AMF and DG synchronising panels

Starts your generators when the grid fails and hands the load back when it returns. AMF panels handle automatic changeover for a single DG; synchronising panels run several DG sets in parallel and share the load between them.

Overview

An AMF panel watches the mains supply. When it fails or goes out of limits, the controller starts the DG, waits for voltage and frequency to settle, and transfers the load. When mains returns and stays healthy, it transfers back and runs the DG down through a cooling cycle.

For sites that need more power or redundancy than one DG can give, synchronising panels match voltage, frequency and phase angle before closing each DG breaker onto a common bus, then share kW and kVAr between the sets. Load management can start and stop sets to match demand and shed non-critical loads.

Built and tested in-house

We cut, bend, weld and powder-coat the enclosures in our own workshop, then assemble and wire every panel to drawings you approve before fabrication starts. Before dispatch each panel goes through high-voltage, insulation resistance and functional tests, and your team is welcome to witness them.

Frequently asked questions

What does an AMF panel do?

AMF stands for automatic mains failure. The panel detects a mains failure, starts the DG, transfers the load once the DG is stable and transfers it back when mains is restored, with no one needed on site.

How many DG sets can be synchronised?

Our synchronising panels typically run 2 to 8 DG sets on a common bus, with automatic start and stop of sets based on load.

Can we synchronise DG sets of different ratings?

Yes. Load sharing is proportional to each set's rating, so a 500 kVA and a 1010 kVA set each carry the same percentage of their capacity.

Is the changeover open or closed transition?

Standard AMF changeover is open transition, with a short break during transfer. Closed transition, where DG and mains briefly run in parallel, is available where your utility permits it.
